HOUSTON -- A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run early Saturday, officials told KPRC Local 2.
Houston police said a man's body was found on North Highway 6 near Patterson Road at about 6 a.m. The man's identity will be determined by the Harris County Medical Examiners' Office. Detectives said there were no witnesses to the initial impact. The type of vehicle that hit the man has not been determined.
A driver said he was traveling behind a pickup truck that slowed down to avoid hitting something in the road. The driver said he was not able to stop to avoid hitting the victim's body.
Police said the driver called for help and is cooperating with the investigation.
