October 19, 2006 Pedestrian fatally struck by METRO bus in downtown Houston

(10/19/06 - KTRK/HOUSTON) - A pedestrian has been struck by a bus in downtown Houston. The accident happened at about 4:30pm Thursday at the corner of Smith and McGowen. A man about 60 years old was apparently crossing the street outside the crosswalk when he was struck by a METRO bus. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital where he later died. No other injuries have been reported. The bus was towed from the scene.
